More about DJK Creative – Philosophy and Design

Humans, we are balancing the experience of being, with the equal and opposition forces that create cosmic order. The modern dialogue of the human mind in relation to design and the environment – The dancing debate between logic and creativity.

If infact we humans have created an object-ecosystem crisis through logical means of sustaining our systems of industry and a capitalist economy, then that same logic alone will not address nor solve the problems that it has created.

There is a natural role for the observational creative in modernity. Naturally oppositional to conformity, resistant to being a piece-in-place or a piece-in-play, the role is socially difficult and an environmental necessity.

The Twelve Perceptions

The observational creative is a difficult role to understand. Peacefully questioning established systems, using the creation of formations and objects, not out of ignorance but to illuminate problems and to engage in alternative thinking and doing. The processes of design and creation must address the difference between compounding and alleviating problems in relationship to the environment, social issues and to the condition of the human mind. Often quietly confrontational, the individual in this role tends to question conformity and disassemble established belief systems. Through philosophy and creative processes, the observational creative, as a result of seeing clearly, embraces the process of cutting through mental, social and ontological attachments. This role is not rebellious or deviant on purpose, for many this role is a natural human response to seeing clearly the earths environmental condition and humanities trajectory.

The earth processes are cyclical, momentous and evolutionary. A whole system is biologically regenerative and naturally self-sustaining until an imbalance occurs. Like a river full of debris, congested with plastic bottles and food wrappers, the water does not flow, the generation of form and objects by humans, using natural resources creates issues with the regenerative processes of earth, and yet the trajectory of humans and object creation seems to be relentless. (What to do about the Disposable Object and the frame of mind that believes its creation to be important?)

The mind is not a building, but humans build buildings in the mind. A mind built like a building is constrained, conditioned to its form and function. This system formation conditioning is a very real aspect of mind, but not the ontological most real.

Overdevelopment and Environmental Imbalance is an earth problem. What is the response to imbalance?

Humans produce non-regenerative objects and structures, creating a built environment on top of the natural system that produces waste and disturbs the earth systems function.

In relation to design and creation, what to create and why? When to create? What materials to create with? What is important to communicate? What will last and be well with the earth system? What generates clarity through creation?

The philosophies of being and doing seem to compete, the demand to do, in contrast with the clarity that being can provide, a quietness and stillness.

An honest view of earth and the trajectory of humanity as it is, free from delusion, is not easy to maintain. Like a single point of clarity on the horizon, lost from sight then glimpsed again, as though endlessly searching for someone in a crowd, the reminders of awakened clarity and truthful vision continue to encourage gazing towards the horizon where it was last seen.

The Reality of Modernity – The pinnacle of human built society and the over-development of natural earth – all one in the same. All humanities creation, the conflict, awe and crisis of man/women the maker, culminating as one event, the experience of NOW on earth.

Are humans lying to themselves about order? Is the built order a dominating and delusional system that humans are forcing upon the earth systems natural order? Its result, a mind of insanity only making sense to itself. Have humans superseded our natural extension of creation, going beyond natures provided means, into the supernatural, using force upon the sacred, violating and building upon the spiritual territory of the mind?

Problems arise simply by being human. Existential suffering and intellectual conclusions, both bind and motivate action towards a truthful understanding of reality.
Intellectual structure is a vessel and network of communication, intellectual structure is not self and is not the most real.
The paradox of awareness; the understanding that arises in stillness is not the action of that understanding. The process that incubates the concept is of a different mode of operation then the enacting of it. The vision of what to do and the ability to do so, are limited by the way things are, by the process of The Way.
